What are scheduled tasks?
A scheduled task is a Cowork job set to run on a timetable - every morning, every Friday, the first of the month - without anyone starting it. Each run costs the same credits as the one-off version; the difference is that runs accumulate whether or not anyone remembered. A daily digest is thirty runs a month. Scheduling turns a task price into a subscription.
This is Cowork at its most useful and its most expensive, for the same reason. The Friday report that happens whether or not anyone remembered is a different thing from one someone has to start - and it's a standing line on the bill that nobody re-approves.
The governance is simple and rarely done: every schedule has an owner, and the list gets reviewed monthly. The admin centre's usage report surfaces the enthusiast with nine daily digests soon enough. Per-person caps make the discovery cheap.
What to schedule first: the recurring report someone always assembles late. Weekly status, Monday pipeline summary, morning inbox digest - jobs with a deadline and a sigh attached.
No. Same task, same credits. The cost is in the count.
Actions that send or change things still pause for approval by default. A scheduled task that needs a yes will wait for one.
The definitions are the easy part. Whether Cowork is the right spend is a different question.
