What do scheduled Cowork tasks actually cost?

A scheduled task costs the same as its one-off equivalent - 100 to 700 credits per run for most light and medium work, £0.80 to £5.50 - but it runs without being asked, on the cadence you set. A daily morning digest is thirty runs a month: £24 to £166 a month, per schedule. Scheduling turns a task price into a subscription.

What this task adds up to

One person, one task is easy. The monthly picture is what matters - put in how often this actually happens in your business.

Usage only - licences come on top, and every person needs one. Credit ranges are directional; run the task and check /cost in Cowork for your real figure. $0.01 per credit at roughly £1 = $1.27, ex-VAT. Last verified 13 July 2026.

What drives the cost

Cadence times weight drives the cost. A weekly light digest is a few pounds a month and easy to justify forever. A daily medium-weight report is a standing £70-ish line that nobody remembers switching on. Multiply by the number of scheduled tasks across a team and this becomes the quietest route to a surprising bill - not because any run is expensive, but because nothing about it asks permission twice.

The discipline is a review habit: list the schedules, monthly, and make each one re-earn its place. The admin centre shows spend by person, which surfaces the enthusiast with nine daily digests soon enough. Scheduled tasks are also where Cowork is at its best - the report that happens whether or not anyone remembered is a genuinely different thing from a report someone has to start. Pay for that deliberately.

Common questions

Do scheduled tasks cost more per run?

No - same task, same credits. The difference is that runs accumulate on a timetable instead of on demand.

How do we stop schedule sprawl?

Monthly review of what's scheduled, per-person spending caps, and a rule that every schedule has an owner. If nobody would miss it, cancel it.

What's worth scheduling first?

The recurring report someone always assembles late - weekly status, Monday pipeline summary, morning inbox digest. Things with a deadline and a sigh attached.

BEFORE YOU COMMIT

That's the cost. The harder question is whether it's the answer.

A new tool sitting on top of an estate that nobody fully understands usually adds cost, not clarity. So before you commit the budget, it's worth asking a simpler question: is Cowork actually your constraint, or is it something underneath it? We help established UK businesses get a clear view of what they're running - and whether the next bit of spend earns its place.
