How many Copilot Credits does a board pack use?

Assembling a board or management pack is among the heaviest recurring tasks Cowork runs - roughly 800 to 2,000 Copilot Credits, about £6.30 to £15.80 per pack. Once a month, one pack: under £16 a month for the document that eats more senior time than any other.

What this task adds up to

One person, one task is easy. The monthly picture is what matters - put in how often this actually happens in your business.

What drives the cost

Everything a board pack is drives the cost. It's multi-source by definition - finance sheets, departmental updates, the commentary threads - and multi-output: narrative, numbers, appendices. That's the profile Cowork charges most for, and the profile that used to consume two days of an FD's month.

This is the clearest value-per-task page on this site, so it deserves the honest caveats too. The pack is only as complete as what's reachable in Microsoft 365 - if management accounts live in your finance platform, export them first or the numbers section arrives thin. And a board pack carries judgement: what to emphasise, what the board needs warning about. Cowork assembles; the FD still authors. The realistic saving is the assembly day, not the thinking.

Common questions

What goes into the pack automatically?

Whatever's reachable: spreadsheets in SharePoint or OneDrive, departmental updates in email and Teams, prior packs as the structural template. Finance-platform data needs exporting first.

Can it match our existing pack format?

Give it the last two or three packs and it will follow the structure closely. The closer your format is to consistent, the better the imitation.

Is £16 a month really the whole cost?

For this task, at list pricing, yes - the licence for the person running it is the bigger line. The pack is the strongest single argument for that person's licence.

BEFORE YOU COMMIT

That's the cost. The harder question is whether it's the answer.

A new tool sitting on top of an estate that nobody fully understands usually adds cost, not clarity. So before you commit the budget, it's worth asking a simpler question: is Cowork actually your constraint, or is it something underneath it? We help established UK businesses get a clear view of what they're running - and whether the next bit of spend earns its place.
